Insecure part-time teacher Nanami passively goes through life with no aim. Failing in her job, she decides to marry an online acquaintance. When hiring the mysterious Amuro to provide seat fillers for her wedding, her life takes an unexpected turn. Shunji IWAI’s return to fiction is a light-hearted and poetical coming-of-age film celebrating individual freedom.
Director’s Bio
Shunji IWAI, born in 1963, graduated from Yokohama National University. After beginning his directing career with commercials, TV dramas and music videos in 1988, his feature debut LOVE LETTER (1995) became a box office hit and received many awards. The teen drama ALL ABOUT LILY CHOU-CHOU (2001) brought him international fame. In addition to writing and directing his films, IWAI often composes his own scores as well.
