After her father’s death, little Chieri’s only remaining friend is her plush toy Cherry. When visiting her grandmother’s house for the funeral ceremony of her father, the wildly imaginative Chieri is thrown into an unforgettable adventure in which she learns to face her fears and overcome her grief. This warm-hearted puppet animation film is bound to conquer not only the hearts of children but of adults as well.
Director’s Bio
Makoto NAKAMURA, born in Saitama Prefecture in 1970, has worked as a graphic designer, screenwriter, production supervisor and producer before taking a chance on directing. His debut film from 2010 was a remake of the Russian puppet animation CHEBURASHKA.
