Nippon Visions
A place for newcomers, for innovation, for special formats: all this is provided in the NIPPON VISIONS section. Filmmakers present their view on Japanese society, which is confronted with numerous challenges. Directing debuts such as THE SOWER, GOING THE DISTANCE, or ERIKO, PRETENDED give proof of the potential of Japanese cinema. Documentaries open up historical perspectives, but they also deal with current topics of high social relevance. Last but not least, NIPPON VISIONS has some highlights for all short film fans.
Two awards are offered in the NIPPON VISIONS section. The NIPPON VISIONS JURY AWARD consists of a free subtitling, sponsored by the Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy (JVTA). NIPPON VISIONS AUDIENCE AWARD is funded by Japanisches Kultur- und Sprachzentrum in Frankfurt and endowed with 1,000 €
