After abandoning his family many years ago, a man returns to his hometown to attend his son’s wedding. This comedy-drama, produced by graduates and students of Tokyo University of the Arts, depicts an awkward family reunion with laconic humor.

Yoh, who works as an illustrator, is frustrated by the gap between her ideal career and reality. Her mother Yumi suffers from her unfulfilling marriage, while her grandmother Kazuko deals with her impending death. Rina TANAKA’s debut film is a melancholic family portrait, told from the viewpoint of women of three different generations.
Two feature shorts, made by students and staff members of the Graduate School for Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts, depict the various facets of Japanese family life.
